About Us

The History of Johnson Industrial Machinery Services, Inc.

Jimmy Johnson ventured into his own home-based business in 1971. What began as electrical contracting quickly found its spot in servicing the tobacco processing industry. Mr. Johnson used his past experience in and knowledge of the tobacco industry to provide top quality repair and installation services to local factories. This led to work in factories out of state and even overseas. It also led to work in other types of factories including the textile industry. The company incorporated in 1982 becoming Johnson Industrial Machinery Services, Inc. (JIMS).

JIMS moved to its current location in 1994. The size of the building has been more than doubled since moving in to accommodate growing services. We have a complete machine shop, sheet metal shop, welding area, painting area, as well as engineering department. We recognize the importance of upgrading our equipment and abilities and constantly pursue these areas.

JIMS has also ventured into other industries. We are currently involved in the tobacco, textile, food, pharmaceutical, pet food, jail system, health care, and farm systems. We have the ability to provide services from designing and drafting your ideas to fabricating and installing the finished product. JIMS has built a strong reputation of providing quality services in a timely and professional manner at a reasonable cost. Customer satisfaction has always been a top goal. Our workforce strives to build a lasting working relationship with our customers. These relationships have proven to be beneficial to the customers and JIMS. It enables the customers to be sure they get what they want and our workforce to understand exactly what is needed.

While JIMS has grown both in size and ability, it has remained a close-knit organization. Our employees and customers are treated like family. It is important to remember that while we continue to grow, customer service and satisfaction is what brought us to this point and what will take us further down the road.
